Elementary
and PDE
Our
Elementary program is more of a traditional day school
setting with much more parent involvement. Your students
will attend school five days a week with core courses
taught from 8:00 am - 1:30 pm, any electives supplied
by the parents would follow from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm.
Parents are encouraged to become part of the classroom
and help as an aid or to offer an extracurricular class
or activity. Parents are also welcome to provide transportation
for field trips, help out for recess and lunch duty
as well as other miscellaneous things. A child always
feels extra special when they know Mom or Dad is on
campus.
Each
subject is taught with a Biblical Worldview.
God and His word are the center
of all that we do as Christians. Therefore it only makes
sense to incorporate His word in all that is presented
in teaching. Your child will be encouraged to discover
his/her God-given talents and gifts. He/she will also
learn the skills needed throughout his/her elementary
career to move on to the project learning program offered
in the sixth-twelfth grades.
What are electives?
Electives are those extracurricular
activities such as Art, Music, Chapel, Introduction
to a Foreign Language, etc. All of us are given gifts
from God and every parent can offer something to their
child's education. Maybe just one parent or a group
of parents would like to work together to provide something
extra for the kids. It's up to you. Our program depends
on this. Without parent directed extracurricular activities
the children will not be able to have these activities.
Chapel
Chapel is a once a week meeting
time where the whole elementary gather and enjoy a half
hour of getting to know God on a personal level. Sometimes
it's a missionary story or a visit from a missionary.
Other times it's a story that contains a life lesson
they can take home. Object lessons are often presented.
Even a dance group or singing group could come to show
how to worship God through dance or song. This too is
an opportunity for parents to show children that God
does not live in a box. He is a big God that chooses
to use His people in many ways. Chapel is a once a week
reaffirmation of all that is taught about God during
the week
