MCA Science Program

MCA has a full range of college preparatory Science curriculum. These courses are involves interactive teaching, lecture, labs, hands-on learning and field trips. Teaching staff make every efforts to create inter-disciplinary connections to make learning relevant to the student. Our emphasis throughout the high school years is graduate students that understand thoroughly the issues involved in the creation / evolution debate.

Physical Science This course will cover the normal topic of any Physical Science course, but the emphasis will be on Geology. Components of both Evolution and Creation will be taught and compared according to the Scientific Method. Units on Mt. St Helens, Grand Canyon and Mt Monadnock are special projects though out the year.

Bio: MCA teaches a traditional Biology course. Dissection are still an exciting part of the course. Evidence for the origin of life is considered form both Evolution and Creation.

Physics and Chemistry: Both these courses are required for our college bound students. Full labs are included in both courses.

Environmental Science: Environmental Science is the third science requirement for students enrolled in the General or Business tracks. These course investigate the validity of environmental claims and proposes Biblical solutions to each problem. The course involves the investigation and construction of a number of different environment. Field trips are an important part of this course. See Outdoor Learning link.

** Junior High Science follows the a similar sequential course schedule and are usually taught by the high school staff

** Text books are generally form Christian distributors, but not necessarily when opposite points of view are needed to to fully educate and prepare students for secular institutions.
